Biogas Capture/Renewables

Region: Thailand
In a nutshell: Mitigating methane release into the atmosphere as a result of organic matter breakdown from the Palm Oil Mill.
Estimated Annual Emissions Reduction: 35,028 tonnes CO2e
Carbon Offset Volume: 110 tonnes CO2e

The project helps mitigate the release of methane into the atmosphere. This occurs as a result of the breakdown of organic matter from the Palm Pol Mill. The major components of the project are:

  • Extraction of methane (biogas) from wastewater through biogas reactor.
  • Reuse of biogas for fuel.
  • Allows reuse of wastewater into the mill production process, aiding water conservation.

Hydro/Renewables

Region: Turkey
In a nutshell: Clean electricity production, using the potential energy of the Aksu River as a renewable source.
Estimated Annual Emissions Reduction: 83,983 tonnes CO2e
Carbon Offset Volume: 1448 tonnes CO2e

This project focuses on clean electricity production, using the potential energy of Aksu River as a renewable source. By producing electricity from a non-fossil fuel source, this project:

  • Reduces the impact of airborne pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Turkey’s electricity generation is heavily reliant on fossil fuels. By investing in renewables projects in the area, we help the Turkish national electricity grids transition towards more sustainable resources.

Wind/Renewables

Region: China
In a nutshell: Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions generated by coal-fired power plants with wind-powered energy.
Estimated Annual Emissions Reduction: 427,936 tonnes CO2e
Carbon Offset Volume: 220 tonnes CO2e

This project will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions generated from the North China Power Grid (NCPG). This will displace part of the NCPG’s electricity, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions generated by coal-fired power plants. It will contribute to the development of the local community by means of:

  • GHG emission reduction.
  • Pollutants emission reduction. through replacing fossil fuel combustion.
  • Employment opportunities.
